Northern Warmth
About Us

Northern Warmth sells down sleep systems for the British outdoors — bags, mats and the parts around them. We publish the raw material specification of everything we sell, and we do not print temperature ratings we cannot support.
Why we exist
Look at down sleeping bags in the £90–140 range and you will find dozens of listings for what is physically the same bag. What separates them is not the product. It is what the listing tells you — and most tell you almost nothing beyond a temperature figure nobody has tested.
We decided to compete on the opposite: state the fill weight, the down ratio, the shell fabric, the total weight and the packed size on every listing, and describe the conditions in words rather than in a number pulled from a supplier sheet.
How we keep prices where they are
We ship directly from our fulfilment and manufacturing partners in Asia rather than holding stock through a UK distribution chain. That removes a layer of cost, and it is why the same specification costs less here than on a high street shelf.
The trade-off is delivery time: 7–14 working days rather than next day. We state that plainly on every product page and in our Shipping Policy, because a delivery estimate you discover at checkout is worse than a longer one you knew about.
What we will not do
- Print a comfort or extreme temperature figure without a laboratory test to ISO 23537
- Use countdown timers, fake stock counters or “someone just bought this” notifications
- Describe feather as down, or estimate a specification we have not confirmed with the manufacturer
Where we do not yet have a figure confirmed, the listing says so instead of guessing.
